I understand the importance of keeping the City of Cypress safe. It will be my top priority to ensure the Cypress Police Department remains staffed and equipped, while also maintaining our strong partnership with the Orange County Fire Authority.
Our city has been named the most financially secure city in Orange County in two out of the past four years. I will use my business expertise to ensure Cypress remains fiscally sound and financially healthy. This will be accomplished by having a balanced budget, matching our available resources with prudent spending and investment decisions. I will continue to support building our reserves to provide strength and security for our community. All this will be achieved without new taxes or tax increases for our businesses or our residents.
As a business leader, I understand the benefits of a strong economy. As we all struggle today with inflation driving up the cost of food and the price of gasoline, I will work with our business community to support and encourage investment in our local economy. Cypress is a business-friendly city. We will build on our success in attracting new businesses, like the recent Trader Joe’s and Mitsuwa Japanese Marketplace. As a member of the City Council, I will work to ensure we continue to be an exciting and attractive place for businesses large and small to call home.
Cypress is a wonderful place with great programs and services for all ages. The City has made major investments in new park facilities at Mackay and Lexington Parks. I will continue to invest in recreation facilities for our residents through the redevelopment of Arnold Cypress Park. I will also look for ways to provide new programs and services for our seniors. Finally, I will work to ensure we maintain our excellent infrastructure, including the finest roads in Orange County.
Cypress has excellent schools. Part of the success of our schools has been the strong partnership between our schools, our city and parents. As a member of the City Council, I will build upon that partnership to develop solutions and better enable student success.
